The Brenton Hotel is a 57-room boutique property on the harbourfront in Newport, Rhode Island, directly opposite the marina. Opened in summer 2020, it was the first new-build hotel in the area for nearly 30 years. Every room has floor-to-ceiling windows looking over the harbour, and the rooms and suites are among the most spacious in the city, with a contemporary nautical style. Facilities include a restaurant, room service, a rooftop bar, parking and air conditioning, and pets and children are welcome. Rates start at $397 a night, so it suits travellers wanting a modern waterfront stay at a premium price. Reviewers praise the friendly, accommodating staff, though some find the room decor a little sterile.
