Dromoland Castle is a five-star hotel set in a 16th-century baronial castle in Newmarket-on-Fergus, County Clare, near Ireland's west coast. A $23 million renovation brought the historic building up to modern standards, with elegant rooms and suites alongside contemporary facilities. Guests can use an 18-hole golf course, spa, swimming pool, gym, tennis courts, falconry, archery, clay shooting, fishing and marked walking grounds, with free private parking on site. Room service, Wi-Fi and family-friendly accommodation are available, and Dromoland Lodge offers a more secluded option with full access to the castle's facilities. Rates start at $1,088 per night, so it suits travellers celebrating something special rather than those on a modest budget.
