Fairfield by Marriott Cortland is a hotel on Route 281, about eight miles from Cortland town centre and near SUNY Cortland. Rooms and suites have been renovated and come with workstations, mini-fridges, microwaves, free Wi-Fi and comfortable beds, with suites adding separate living areas. Guests get free breakfast, free parking, an indoor pool, a 24-hour gym, a firepit and bike rentals, and the desk runs around the clock. It suits both business travellers visiting the university area and families passing through, with a pool that children tend to enjoy. The location is roadside rather than scenic, so anyone wanting a walkable town setting should look elsewhere, and some guests find the beds softer than they like.
