Hotel Loggiato dei Serviti is a three-star hotel set in a former 15th- or 16th-century convent in Florence's Historic Centre. It stands on a square away from the crowds, about a five-minute walk from the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and close to the Accademia Gallery, with a tram stop three minutes away. Rooms combine period and antique furnishings with air conditioning and TVs, and some have a more modern look. It suits travellers who want a historic setting within walking distance of the main sights. Rates start around $160 a night, which is reasonable for the location, though the building's age means the traditional decor will not appeal to everyone.
