Hotel Sanders is a five-star boutique hotel in central Copenhagen, a short walk from Nyhavn and the Strøget shopping street. The 1868 building was converted and opened as a hotel in 2017 by former ballet dancer Alexander Kølpin, combining Moorish architectural detail with modern Scandinavian interiors. Its 54 rooms range from compact coupe rooms to larger apartments with kitchenettes, and facilities include a rooftop conservatory garden, a restaurant, a cocktail bar, room service and free Wi-Fi. It suits couples and travellers who want a design-led, independently minded base near the city's cultural sights, though families should note the room choice matters. Rates start around $629 a night, so it is a considerable investment.
