Hotel Schweizerhof Bern is a five-star superior hotel in central Bern, directly opposite the main train station. The building keeps a historic façade while the interior mixes classical and modern design, and rooms and suites are fitted to a luxury standard. Facilities include a full-service spa, swimming pool, gym, casino, restaurant, room service and valet parking, and the hotel welcomes children and pets. Guests frequently mention the helpful staff, comfortable beds and generous breakfast. Its position suits travellers arriving by rail and visitors who want the Old City and University of Bern within easy walking distance. One thing to consider: rooms at the front overlook a busy road, so light sleepers may prefer a room on the quieter side.
