Parkhotel Emmaus is a three-star, smoke-free hotel in Losone, in Switzerland's Ticino region, open all year. It stands in a large Mediterranean-style park, close to Lake Maggiore and Ascona's lakeside promenade, so it suits travellers who want a quiet base with easy access to the lake and local grottos. Facilities include free WiFi in public areas, free self-parking, laundry facilities, express check-in, a convenience store, a terrace and a garden. Reviews praise the cleanliness, tidy facilities and friendly, capable staff, and rooms are described as spacious with balconies. One point to weigh: some guests feel the location itself is unremarkable, and a few found staff inflexible on certain requests. Rates start around $226 per night.
