The Hotel Majestic is a historic three-star boutique hotel that has been operating since 1902, making it San Francisco's longest-running hotel. It occupies a Victorian building on Sutter Street in the Pacific Heights neighbourhood, around ten blocks from Union Square, with early twentieth-century European-inspired architecture. Guests get a free continental breakfast, plus a bar, a library, a 24-hour business centre, in-room WiFi, room service and luggage storage, and the front desk operates around the clock. Family-friendly rooms are available and walk-ins are accepted. Rooms are reported as clean, spacious and comfortable, and the staff are welcoming. The building shows its age, though: it is dated and in need of refurbishment, and there is no air conditioning. Rates start at about $205 a night.
